not bathroom but car

This inspiration was not from the bathroom, but came while I was riding in a car.
One middle aged man was on the sidewalk. He seems to be looking for a chance to jaywalk cross the street. One car in our front stopped, trying to give him a chance to go cross the street. But, the guy wouldn't go cross the street. Why? Because the traffic on the other direction still kept coming. Stopping for a little while, the driver again started to move, maybe wondering in his mind, "Why doesn't this guy go cross the street? Why is he ignoring my kindness? I stopped and gave him a chance!"
Sometimes we sympathize with the people, and try to help, but not really caring the public rule (or seeing from higher perspective). What if that guy on the street tried to respond to your kindness and start crossing the street. He may get hit by one of upcoming cars or those cars may need to make sudden stop, which could cause accidents. It is good to try to help the people, but not out of your own self-satisfaction (I mean, in this case ignoring the public rule), because it could cause danger.
Anyway, my point is: It is good to want to help the people, but not out of self-satisfaction. We always need to check if what I am going to do would really help this person or not. We need to consider from higher perspective.

Fortune Cookies or Unfortunate Cookies...

As I eat cookies, I felt very bad. How can I just enjoy eating cookies without thinking anything when my brothers and sisters are dying in some part of the world, particularly now in Gaza and Israel? While I say we are one family under God, and eat cookies peacefully without thinking about them, what a selfish person I am! This selfishness is the problem. This selfishness is the cause of whole problems. If I want to contribute to the healing of the world's problems, I better start fixing my selfishness first. This war---cannot happen in one family. We are supposed to be the same family from Abraham. But now Abraham's children are hating and killing each other. What went wrong we lost the sense of one family?

Fortune Cookies! ---don't ever underestimate them.

Many times I found fortune cookies to be so amazing.
Last week when I ate Chinese dinner, I got this fortune cookie which says, "You have tasted sweet coffee before; now you know the bitter taste of coffee."
I was so shocked.
Last month a person whom I really respect told me how bad sugar and cream are for our health. I have always had coffee with sugar and half-and-half before. But she advised me with such a vivid and dramatic way with a clear point and clear proof, I totally changed my lifestyle regarding drinking coffee. I quitted my twenty years of drinking coffee with cream and sugar! Since then I only drink coffee in black.
Now, who knows what I did? During those twenty years, I ate Chinese food many times and I got many fortune cookies, but not this particular one. And just one month after I made this lifetime decision I got this particular one. Isn't that something?
Anyway, things like this happens often in my fortune cookie life.
